Garden Renovation and Landscaping Project, Heymoor Farm

Project Overview

This landscaping project involved the complete transformation of a residential garden area to complement a newly built rear extension while enhancing the property’s outdoor living space. Our team excavated and restructured the garden to introduce a blend of contemporary design and natural elements, creating a harmonious space that not only suits the modern aesthetic of the property but also makes the most of its stunning views over Pendle Hill.

Scope of Work

Excavation and Site Preparation:

The existing block-paved garden area around the property was excavated to prepare for the new layout. This involved removing old paving and preparing the ground for the construction of a new retaining wall and pathways.

Retaining Wall Construction:

A new retaining wall was built to support the garden structure, ensuring stability and enhancing the visual appeal of the landscape. This wall was crafted to complement the modern style of the property while providing necessary structural integrity.

Feature Steps:

To create a visual focal point and improve access between different levels of the garden, we constructed feature steps using carefully selected materials that tie into the overall design, offering both function and style.

Indian Stone Patio and Pathway:

A new patio area was laid with high-quality Indian stone paving, creating a durable and aesthetically pleasing outdoor living space. In the center of the patio, we installed a stone-set pathway that led to an old York stone patio, which was refurbished and restored to its former glory. This combination of materials brought a balance of rustic charm and modern sophistication to the design.

Cobbled Pathways and Resin Bound Surface:

At the rear of the property, we installed new cobbled stone pathways, ensuring a traditional yet elegant look. To enhance durability and performance, these paths were resurfaced with a resin-bound surface, providing a low-maintenance, smooth, and attractive finish.

Stone Benches with a View:

As part of the rear extension, we created a set of bespoke stone benches positioned to offer the best views of Pendle Hill. These benches not only serve as a functional seating area but also act as a feature element that draws attention to the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Design and Aesthetic Integration:

The garden's design was tailored to blend seamlessly with the modern extension of the property, ensuring that the outdoor space felt like a natural extension of the home's interior. The use of natural stone, complemented by contemporary design elements, resulted in a sophisticated yet welcoming garden space that reflects the client's style and offers a perfect environment for relaxation and entertainment.

Outcome

The project successfully transformed an outdated and underutilized garden into a stunning, functional, and contemporary outdoor space. The integration of both modern materials and traditional elements, such as the refurbished York stone patio and stone benches, ensured the design harmonized with the property and surrounding area. The result is a garden that enhances the property’s value and aesthetic appeal while offering a tranquil space to enjoy the breathtaking views over Pendle Hill.

Conclusion

This garden renovation project exemplifies how thoughtful design and high-quality materials can transform a property’s outdoor space. By blending contemporary features with traditional elements, we created a unique garden that complements the architecture of the property while embracing its natural surroundings. The final result is a beautiful, functional outdoor space that the client can enjoy for years to come.
